NOT SO FINE PRINT
Paymate's simple fee structure and 'full-service' offer are based on expectations of 'average' usage patterns in terms of volumes, average payment amount, Anticipated Interchange Level, product category risk and fraudulent transactions received, volumes of refunds and chargeback inquiries, disputes and requirements for client support. Sellers with significant volumes and low risk profiles may qualify for better terms after a pattern of usage has been established, at Paymate's discretion.
Paymate's Fees are detailed as below.
Discount Rate
3.00% On Gross Visa, MasterCard and Discover ® Network Card Sales
3.00% On Gross Visa, MasterCard and Discover ® Network Card Non-PIN Debit Sales (US only)
These apply to all transactions that meet the qualification citeria for your Anticipate Interchange Level.
Refunds can be processed by Paymate upon the seller's emailed request. There is no charge for refunds however the fee paid on the original payment is non refundable.
Authorization Fee
Authorization/EDC Fee of $0.50 applies to all Visa, MasterCard and Discover ® Network Card approval (pre-authorizations and authorizations), denials, batch inquiries, batch entry transactions and includes any transaction fees and capture fees.
Non-qualified Transactions and Fees:
Each interchange level has an associated interchange fee that is established by Visa, MasterCard or Discover Network. If a transaction does not satisfy all the qualification criteria for your Anticipated Interchange Level, then Visa, MasterCard or Discover Network will not process the transaction at the Anticipated Interchange Level. This type of transaction is often referred to as a “Non-qualified Transaction.” For processing each Non-qualified Transaction, you will be assessed the Discount Rate and an additional fee. The additional fee is made up of TWO components: The Non-qualified Interchange Fee and a Non-qualified Surcharge.
The Non-qualified Interchange Fee is the difference between the interchange fee associated with the Anticipated Interchange Level and the interchange fee associated with the interchange level at which the transaction was actually processed (amounts found on your Non-qualified Interchange Fee Schedule). The Non-qualified Surcharge is currently not applicable.
The MasterCard® Network Access and Brand Usage Fee
Effective July 1, 2009, the rate for the MasterCard Network Access and Brand Usage (NABU) Fee will be $0.0185 per transaction (including refund transactions). This fee will appear as a separate line item—MC Network Access Usage Fee—beginning with your July statement. This fee is being charged by MasterCard for access to their networks and will be charged by MasterCard on U.S. issued cards settled in the US only.
The Visa® Acquirer Processing Fee
Effective July 1, 2009, the rate for the Visa Acquirer Processing Fee (APF) will be $0.0195 per authorization. This fee is being charged by Visa for access to their authorization systems. This fee is similar to the MasterCard fee above; however, it will be assessed per authorization rather than per transaction. This means the fee will be assessed on all Visa-branded authorizations accepted by U.S. merchants regardless of where the card is issued. It will not be assessed on Visa Account Verification messages where the amount is $0.00; pre-authorizations (excluding Automated Fuel Dispensers); or adjustments. This fee will appear as a separate line item—Visa Auth Processing Fee—beginning with your July statement.
Chargeback Processing Fees
$15.00 per chargeback inquiry received by our bank.
